Refractive Index Calculator – based on Snell’s Law

Last updated on November 2nd, 2023 at 09:40 am

In this post, we present you with a Refractive Index Calculator that is based on Snell’s Law.

The Formula used: Refractive Index (n) = sin(Incident Angle) / sin(Refracted Angle)

Refractive Index Calculator (Snell’s Law)

Formula: Refractive Index (n) = sin(Incident Angle) / sin(Refracted Angle)

How to use the calculator?

Provide the incident angle and the Refracted angle (both in degrees) in the respective input boxes, and press the Calculate button to get the refractive index of the 2nd medium(where refraction happens) with respect to the first medium(where the incidence of light happens).
