**An airplane accelerates down a runway at 4 m/s ^{2} for 30s until is finally lifts off the ground. Determine the distance traveled before takeoff.**

## Solution

**S = ut + ½ a t ^{2}as u = 0, the equation becomes S = ½ a t^{2} a = 4 m/s^{2} t = 30 secs**

**So the distance travelled = ½ . 4. 30 ^{2} = 1800 m**
