Dimensional formula of Surface Tension – how to find it?

Last updated on December 28th, 2021 at 02:10 pm

Here, we will find out the dimensional formula of Surface Tension.

The formula of Surface Tension = force/length

The dimensional formula of force = [MLT–2] [see here how to find the dimensional formula of force ]

The dimension of length = [L]

Hence, the Dimensional formula of Surface Tension
= The dimensional formula of force / The dimension of length
= [MLT–2]/[L]
= [ML0T–2]

Dimensional formula of Surface Tension = [ML0T–2]
