Young’s Modulus values of some Common Materials

Last updated on May 21st, 2023 at 02:15 pm

In this post, Young’s Modulus values of some Common Materials are listed in a tabular form (figure 1) for reference. But before that, we have put a list of Young’s Modulus values we often need while solving worksheets or MCQs for class 11 & 12 physics (Elasticity chapter).

Note: Please note that these values are for educational purposes only. For any mission-critical or important design decisions, refer to standard official datasheets.

Young’s Modulus of selected materials (for educational purposes only)

  • Young’s Modulus of Rubber (small strain): 0.01 – 0.1 GPa
  • Young’s Modulus of wood: 8.963 -11 GPa
  • Young’s Modulus of Aluminium: 69
  • Young’s Modulus of glass: 50-90 GPa
  • Young’s Modulus of Copper: 117 GPa
  • Young’s Modulus of Steel: 200 GPa
  • Young’s Modulus of Wrought Iron: 190-210 Gpa
  • Young’s Modulus of Diamond: 1220 GPa

Note: Please note that these data or values of Young’s Modulus are for educational purposes only (just to understand the concepts of Elasticity). These data may have typos as well. For any other requirements like any mission-critical or important design decisions, refer to standard official datasheets.
